Mission

The Supply Chain working group promotes projects aiming to increase supply chain efficiency, thus reducing costs in the production and distribution process and optimising the consumer offer in the point of sales.

The working group treats all general logistic issues and has published recommendations on various matters in this domain.

Objectives

• Follow up of the market situation and presentation of new products, services and companies within or related to the supply chain and logistic area.
• Enhance knowledge on logistic subjects: coordination of studies in collaboration with specialised instances (eg VIL, COMEOS, authorities).
• Treatment of members’ requests for information/advice on logistic issues: reference to joint BABM-COMEOS recommendations and/or submission to legal office for analysis.
• Follow up and coordination of subgroups (Fresh & Chilled) and user groups (ad hoc on specific topics).
• Representation of A-brand manufacturers’ vision and point of view at the GS1 ECR Committee.
• Networking and exchange of experiences and knowhow on FMCG logistic and supply chain topics.
