
Mission
Fresh & Chilled is a subgroup of the Supply Chain working group, and is complementary to this group in the sense that it only deals with issues that are specific to fresh chilled products (2-6°C).
As such, its mission is not to develop a parallel theory and philosophy deviating from the general standards and recommendations set out by the coordinating Supply Chain group.
Just as its umbrella group, the Fresh & Chilled group promotes projects aiming to increase supply chain efficiency, thus reducing costs in the production and distribution process and optimising the consumer offer in the point of sales.
Objectives
- To treat subjects specific and exclusive to the range of fresh products, and which would otherwise remain untreated by the coordinating working group.
- For projects initiated by the trade, with a substantial and long term impact on the existing SC landscape, to do a joint evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages.
- To verify the recommendations of the Supply Chain working group to the reality and needs of fresh produce, prior to external communication or publication, and to give input for adjustment if necessary.
- Networking and exchange of experiences and knowhow between fresh food manufacturers.
